Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin meets his doppelganger at SEC Media Days — but do they look alike?

Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin apparently has a doppelganger who works at a television station in Dothan, Alabama.

WTVY sports reporter Nick Brooks asked Kiffin on Thursday at SEC Media Days in Nashville if Kiffin could see the resemblance between the two.

"I actually get mistaken for you a lot," Brooks said during a breakout session with Ole Miss media. "I go to high school football games a lot and they actually call me Lane Kiffin. I just wanted to know what your thought is, if you think I actually look like you or if they're seeing things?"

After calling it "the strangest question," Kiffin asked if Brooks gets compared to comedian Daniel Tosh. Brooks said yes. Then Kiffin went in.

"I'll be walking through somewhere, and someone will be like, 'Are you Lane Kiffin?' " Kiffin said. "I'll be like, 'No, I hate that dude. He sucks.' It's really cool, because the conversation is over and you can keep moving."

" . . . I'm sorry you get paired in with me. But I would embrace it."

The reporter apparently does.

"I've sent (a photo of Kiffin's college headshot) to my mom, and she was like, 'Is that you?' " Brooks said. "She did not know (that it was Kiffin, not Brooks)."

Kiffin, as only he can, responded: "Hmm. What is your mom's name? I've got to ask my dad (Monte) some questions now."

Do Brooks and Kiffin even look like one another? The question should be asked, and Brooks might not care for the answer.

Kiffin and the Rebels open the season on Sept. 2 against Mercer in Oxford. No word on what Brooks will be doing that day.
