Tiger Woods isn't the same golfer he used to be, but that doesn't mean he's done for. Woods seems poised for a remarkable 2024 after finishing tied for fifth at the PNC Championship in December 2023 alongside his son, Charlie.

Woods spent considerable time that year recovering from surgery to repair an ankle injury he suffered during the 2023 Masters. However, during the PNC tournament, Woods seemed pleased with how his ankle was feeling. While, originally, Woods believed one tournament a month would be the "best-case scenario" for himself, perhaps a strong performance at the Genesis Open, a tournament that has evaded a Tiger Woods victory for more than 25 years, will convince Woods to get out onto the course more often.

Still, expecting a strong finish from Tiger Woods may be a fools' errand. Currently on FanDuel, Woods ranks outside the top-50 in odds for a win, top-five, top-ten, and top-20 placement. At his age, it's hard to keep up with the young bucks, but that won't stop Woods from putting up a serious fight.

How old is Tiger Woods?

Woods turned 48 just over a month ago on Dec. 30, 2023.

Woods has not won a PGA-sanctioned event since the Zozo Championship in 2019. Still, with Woods and Sam Snead tied at 82 for the most career PGA Tour victories all-time, you can imagine Woods is dying for any opportunity to claim the record for himself. Although Woods has not been able to play in very many tournaments in recent years, he played the Genesis Open in 2023 and participated in the event every year from 2018 to 2020.

It would be quite the victory for Woods should he finish atop the standings. Not only would Woods break the all-time PGA Tour wins record, but he would also secure the first victory at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles of his career. Woods has come close several times, but has never been able to walk away victorious. Accomplishing both feats in one weekend would be cause for a massive celebration.
