Oklahoma State football wins second Bedlam in three seasons to end series & more key stats
STILLWATER — The Cowboys got the last laugh.
In what marked the final Bedlam meeting for the foreseeable future, OSU earned a 27-24 win over OU. The Cowboys (7-2, 5-1 Big 12) won two of the past three meetings against their in-state rivals.
Here's a look at the game through the numbers.

OU, OSU break even in the first quarter
1: OSU's Ollie Gordon ran for a 20-yard touchdown with 11:39 left in the first quarter. It marked the first offensive touchdown allowed by OU in the opening quarter of a game this season.
64: OU's Gavin Sawchuk ran for a 64-yard touchdown that tied the score at 7-7 with 10:51 left in the first quarter. It marked the longest play of the season for the Sooners, surpassing a 55-yard reception by Andrel Anthony in a Week 3 win over Tulsa.

OSU pulls ahead in the second quarter
10: OSU held a 17-7 lead with 9:42 left until halftime. It marked the Cowboys' largest lead in a Bedlam game since it held a 14-point lead in a 51-48 loss on Nov. 24, 2012.
5: OU's Zach Schmit missed a 51-yard field-goal attempt with 3:40 left until halftime. It marked the redshirt junior kicker's fifth miss in the past five games.
1: OU trailed 17-14 at halftime. It marked the first time the Sooners trailed at halftime this season.

OU claims its first lead in the third quarter
23: After suffering an ankle injury during a loss to Kansas last week, OU's Tawee Walker ran for a 23-yard touchdown on his first carry of the day. That gave the Sooners a 21-17 lead with 8:05 left in the third quarter.
0: OU held OSU scoreless in the third quarter. It marked the Cowboys' first scoreless quarter of conference play.

OSU wins the final Bedlam
4: OU safety Billy Bowman intercepted a pass on the opening play of the fourth quarter. It marked his fourth interception of the season, which is a team-high total.
2: Fumble recoveries by the Cowboys on four OU fumbles. The biggest was Kody Walterscheid’s recovery late in the fourth that set up an Alex Hale field goal for a 27-21 lead. Xavier Benson also recovered a fumble and forced another.
134: OU's Drake Stoops caught 12 passes for a career-high 134 yards and one touchdown. His previous career-high was 93 receiving yards in a game against Kansas State on Sept. 26, 2020.
0-2: Fourth-down stops for the Cowboys, including one in the final minute to seal the game. Dylan Smith stopped Stoops short of the first down on a reception.

Ollie Gordon II continues to dominate
138: Rushing yards for Gordon, his sixth straight game with at least 100 yards on the ground. He averaged 4.2 yards per carry and scored two touchdowns.
33: Rushing attempts by Gordon, a career high. He surpassed his previous high of 29.
13: Carries remains Gordon’s magic number. Every game he’s had that many in a game, he’s crossed the 100-yard mark.
1: Interception thrown by Gordon, which came on a broken trick play to open the fourth quarter. It was his first-career pass attempt.

OSU’s Rashod Owens has career day for high-powered offense
10: Receptions by the Cowboys’ veteran wideout, a career high. His previous high was nine last month against Kansas. Owens was targeted 17 times.
136: Receiving yards by Owens, also a career high. His previous best was 112, also against Kansas.
30: Yards in penalties charged to the Sooners on a deep pass to Owens early in the fourth quarter. OU’s Makari Vickers was assessed a defensive pass interference and head coach Brent Venables received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty while yelling at the official near the play. The one-play sequence set up Gordon’s second touchdown of the day, a 2-yard score with 7:59 left that put OSU ahead 24-21.
334: Passing yards by Alan Bowman, 2 yards shy of his high as a Cowboy. Bowman completed 28 of 42 passes on the day.
97: Receiving yards by Brennan Presley, his third straight strong game against the Sooners. The former Bixby star caught nine passes for 118 yards a year ago. And two years ago, he had his famous kick return touchdown to set up the win.
37:10: Time of possession for the Cowboys, a total way higher than OU’s 22:46. The Cowboys also ran 81 plays compared to OU’s 64.

Final Bedlam tally for the coaches, teams
4: Wins by OSU coach Mike Gundy in 19 matchups. It’s his second win in three seasons.
1: Wins by OU coach Brent Venables in two matchups.
91-20-7: The final series record — led by OU — for the Bedlam series, which will not continue for the foreseeable future.
