Girls wrestling now has two classifications. Before this season, girls wrestling had just one classification. Now, it is split into Classes 6A and 5A. Last season included a close finish in the team standings at the state tournament, and Tulsa Union won the title.

Edmond North among teams to watch. The Huskies nearly won the championship last year, finishing in a tie with Bixby for second place with 63 points. Tulsa Union won with 63½. Edmond North has arguably the best wrestler in the state in junior Bella Williams, who will try to earn her third championship. The Huskies are ranked second in Class 6A and behind Bixby.

McLoud a team to watch in Class 5A. McLoud is the top-ranked team in Class 5A, followed by Jay, Harrah, Cache and Little Axe. McLoud has just one championship in school history — a fastpitch softball title in 2002.
