OKC-area storylines for 2023-24 boys swimming season

Edmond North enters as defending Class 6A state champion. The Huskies won the title last season as they defeated four-time defending champion Jenks by one point. Edmond North, which has claimed four boys swimming crowns, has several swimmers back, although star Ryan Healy graduated and is now competing at Michigan.

Carl Albert looks to make school history. The Class 5A Titans have never won a boys swimming championship, although they have three on the girls side. The Carl Albert boys nearly made school history last season, losing by just one point to Tulsa Bishop Kelley, which is now in Class 6A. Carl Albert has started strong this season, so the Titans will be a team to keep an eye on.

John Nguyen, So., Bishop McGuinness: He thrived in Class 5A as a freshman as he placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:49.60) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:02.48) at the state meet.
