Ohio State Women’s basketball gets verbal commitment from 2024 point guard
The Ohio State Women’s basketball team got some good news in the middle of summer. While the football team is busy making all the headlines hosting high-profile recruits at its summer camps, the lady hoops team got a verbal commitment of their own. Point guard, Ava Watson gave a verbal commitment to bring her talents to Columbus next season.
Watson is a top 50 player according to ESPN recruiting rankings and hails from Buford, Georgia. Although on the smaller side at 5′ 6″, Watson can put the ball in the basket. She averaged 24 points per game in her junior high school season while adding 6 rebounds per game, 5.2 assists, and 4.3 steals.
Watson picked the Buckeyes over Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, and Texas A&M.
