Ohio State football players, Maurice Clarett react to Tony Alford Michigan move

Tony Alford is reportedly leaving Ohio State football's coaching staff to become the running backs coach at Michigan. And many responses have already come from inside the Ohio State locker room.

While no running backs have made their comments on Alford's departure known, players such as wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and cornerbacks Denzel Burke and Jermaine Mathews Jr. have seemingly commented on the coaching move.

"Stand on what you preaching," Mathews posted on X, formerly known as Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

Burke tweeted multiple thumbs down emojis, while Smith posted "Wow."

Former Ohio State running back Miyan Williams seemingly spoke out Wednesday.

Maurice Clarett: 'tell Ryan (Day) to call me'

After Alford's reported move, former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett has not been quiet about his desires regarding OSU's running back room.

In a slew of posts, Clarett said he was not mad at Alford, who "missed out on another championship run." He later said Ohio State coach Ryan Day was "making room on the staff" for him and that Day should "call me."

In one season at Ohio State, Clarett recorded 1,237 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. He helped the Buckeyes to a national championship in 2002.
