Ohio State football LB Kourt Williams II to miss 2023 season with ACL injury

Kourt Williams II will miss the 2023 season with an ACL injury.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day confirmed the injury Monday.

"Really feel awful for Kourt," Day said. "I feel he can't catch a break. He's such a great young man, so prayers are out to him. We're all rallying around Kourt."

Williams is in his fourth year with the program and moved to linebacker from safety ahead of the 2023 season.

In three seasons, Williams has recorded 32 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, a sack and a pass deflection.

Williams has three seasons of eligibility remaining, including the 2020 pandemic season. He missed his entire freshman season with a torn ACL.

Williams was a team captain in 2022 and only played in six games after being sidelined with a shoulder injury. He has been injured in parts of two seasons with the Buckeyes.

Williams was a four-star prospect in the 2020 class, coming into the program as the No. 166 player and No. 12 outside linebacker in the class out of St. John Bosco in Bellflower, California.
