Ohio high school football scores, box scores for Greater Akron | See who won in Week 1

High school football kicked off Thursday night in Ohio.

In the Summit County area, two games were set to open the 2023 season before the rest of the area's teams played Friday night and Saturday, but inclement weather postponed both before they could be completed. East went on to hold off Youngstown Chaney Friday afternoon, and Kent Roosevelt ended up finishing off a win over Ravenna on Saturday. Friday's full slate of games featured big wins from Hudson, Wadsworth and Norton before Archbishop Hoban wrapped up the weekend with a dominant showing Saturday against a reigning Kentucky state champ in an event at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium Stadium in Canton.
