CANTON — Welcome to our coverage of the 134th high school football game between the Canton McKinley Buldogs and Massillon Tigers, the annual Week 10 end to regular season. The Canton-Massillon high school football rivalry dates back to 1894 when the teams met twice that year with Canton winning each time. Over parts of three centuries now, it's become arguably the nation's premier high school football rivalry. The proximity of the two programs, their success and the overall impact of participants in this series on football at all levels, make it a tough rivalry to match.

Tigers win 134th Massillon-McKinley high school football game
A dominant performance from start to finish ends with the Massillon routing McKinley 35-0, as much of the second half was played with a running clock. The Tigers complete a 10-0 regular season for the first time since 2019 with the win. They are the No. 1 team in the state in Division II, according to the Associated Press, meaning they likely sealed up another AP state poll championship.
This is the first Massillon shutout in the series since a 17-0 win over McKinley in 2008 at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. The Tigers have won eight straight against the Bulldogs, scoring exactly 35 points in three of the last four wins. Massillon has won 12 of the last 13 in the series and lead it 76-53-5 overall.
McKinley finishes the regular season 7-3, having lost the last two weeks.
OHSAA football playoffs for Massillon, McKinley
The Ohio High School Athletic Association officially will release playoff pairings Sunday afternoon. Most teams in the state, though, have good idea of what awaits them in the first round, including the Tigers and Bulldogs. They each will be at home to start the playoffs at 7 Friday night.
The Tigers will be the No. 1 seed in Division II, Region 7. According to joeeitel.com, Massillon will host Grove City Central Crossing (4-6) in a 1-16 game.
The Bulldogs, according to joeeitel.com, will be the fourth seed in Division I, Region 1 and play Strongsville (3-7) in a 4-13 game.
Massillon Tigers go to the final quarter vs McKinley poised for a 10-0 regular season
With the running clock rolling along, the third quarter went by in a hurry. The Tigers lead 35-0. The Bulldogs had minus-5 yards of total offense in the quarter, dropping their overall total to 52. They have totaled 121 yards in penalties.
Massillon football scores again, triggers running clock vs. McKinley
The Tigers drove down the field to open the third quarter and extend their lead to 35-0. Dorian Pringle ran for his second TD of the game, a 4-yard run on a fourth-and-goal with 4:45 left. The game now has a running clock.
The Tigers are up over 300 yards of total offense. The teams also combined for six more penalties on that opening drive, putting the game total at a stunning 27.

Massillon opens the second half with the ball and the lead, as the Tigers seek a 10-0 regular season.
Massillon Tigers lead big at the half
The Tigers left the field up 28-0 after completely dominating the first half. Four different Massillon players have scored touchdowns. The Tigers have outgained the Bulldogs 239-57. Massillon has rushed for 148 yards on 21 carries, while QB DaOne Owens has thrown for 91 yards and two TDs on 7-of-10 passing. Defensively, the Tigers have come up with two turnovers and four sacks (three by Michael Wright Jr.).
A negative for both teams: penalties. Massillon has committed 10 for 60 and McKinley 11 for 97 yards. So the Bulldogs have 40 more yards of penalties and than total offense.
Emy Louis Jr. becomes fourth Massillon Tiger to score touchdown today
Tigers QB DaOne Owens hit Emy Louis Jr. wide open across the middle for a 30-yard TD on third-and-21. Vinny Keller added PAT and Massillon leads 28-0 with 4:59 left in the half.
Massillon running back Ja'Meir Gamble got the drive going, following a Tigers interception, with runs of 24 and 28 yards.
Adonis Marshall helps Massillon defense come up with another turnover
Massillon DB Adonis Marshall intercepted a long pass by Keaton Rode, intended for Dante McClellan. Massillon takes over on own 14 with 7:18 left in the second quarter.
Massillon football scores again for three-touchdown lead
Michael Wright Jr. scored the third TD of the afternoon for the Tigers. More known for his work on the Tigers' powerful defensive line, Wright scored on an 8-yard run with 9:57 left in the half. The Tigers lead 21-0 after the Vinny Keller PAT.
Massillon set up this TD drive with an onside kick recovery. Quarterback DaOne Owens keyed the drive with a 21-yard run before Dorian Pringle delivered runs of 10 and 5 yards to set up the TD. The Tigers have outgained the Bulldogs 158-16 at this point.
Massillon looking to blow open the game vs. McKinley
After scoring to start the second quarter and increase its lead to 14-0, Massillon pulled off a successful onside kick. Vinny Keller recovers his own kick and the Tigers take over on the McKinley 49 threatening to pull away early.
Massillon football dominant to start game
The Tigers lead 14-0 and have outgained the Bulldogs 113-16 in total yards eight seconds into the second quarter. Massillon has five first downs and McKinley just two. The teams have each lost a fumble and have combined for seven penalties.
Dorian Pringle scores Massillon touchdown to open second quarter
Massillon All-Ohio senior linebacker Dorian Pringle showed off his skills at running back to add to the Tigers' lead. He ran for an 18-yard touchdown on the first play of the second quarter. Michael Wright Jr. added a 2-point conversion run. With 11:52 left in the half, Massillon leads 14-0.
Massillon takes lead into second quarter at McKinley
The Tigers lead 6-0 after one quarter and are in the red zone looking to add on. When the second quarter begins, the Tigers have secnd-and-3 from Bulldogs 18. Massillon QB DaOne Owens just picked up a fourth-and-5 with a nice throw to Braylyn Toles, who scored the game's lone TD earlier in the quarter.
Massillon scores first on first offensive play
After a three-and-out by McKinley, Massillon wasted no time scoring. Braylyn Toles caught a 37-yard touchdown pass from DaOne Owens on the Tigers' first play. The Tigers were then flagged for three false starts and missed the PAT. Their lead is 6-0 with 9:40 left in the first quarter.
