Odds set for NBA draft lottery after random tiebreaker drawings
The NBA on Monday announced that ties among teams with identical regular-season records were broken through random drawings to determine the draft lottery odds and pick order.
The drawings were conducted by executive vice president of basketball operations Joe Dumars at the league office in Secaucus, New Jersey. The tiebreaker process was overseen by Marie Dhimmar, a partner from the accounting firm of Ernst & Young.
Among the tiebreakers, three were among teams bound for the lottery:
Houston (22-60) won a tiebreaker over San Antonio
Indiana (35-47) won a tiebreaker over Washington
Chicago (40-42) won a tiebreaker Oklahoma City
