Due to multiple positive COVID19 tests within the Oakland program, the Golden Grizzlies asked the conference to rule the game a no-contest, rather than a forfeit. League commissioner Julie Roe Lach granted the "no contest" ruling. The conference entered the season planning to deem games in which teams can't field enough players due to COVID forfeits.

The Golden Grizzlies are 5-7 on the season with a conference record of 3-2 after beating Milwaukee, 66-53, on Thursday night.

OU is scheduled to play two games on the road next, against Purdue-Fort Wayne on Jan. 6 and Cleveland State on Jan. 8.
