NYPD releases images of East Village murder suspect

Detectives on Saturday released images of the person wanted for fatally slashing a man outside an East Village bar, police said.

The suspect, his face partially obscured by a ski-mask, jumped victim James Cunningham during a confrontation outside of Spike’s on Ave. A and 14th St. at 1:05 a.m. Monday, cops said.

Cunningham, 51, who was a regular at Spike’s and lived nearby, had a seltzer at the bar before he left and got into an argument with his attacker outside a neighboring vacant storefront, according to cops.

Cunningham was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he died.

No arrests have been made.

Cops are asking anyone with information regarding the slasher’s whereabouts to contact (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
