NY Mets group throwing out 1st pitch at Citizens Bank Park for 2nd year

Maybe Phillies fans are welcoming after all.

For the second year in a row, a Mets fan group will throw out the first pitch at a Phillies home game. However, they'll need to adhere to the strict dress code that includes no Mets gear.

Just as they did last year, the Phillies are allowing the leader of the 7Line to throw out the first pitch on June 24 at Citizens Bank Park.

According to a Tweet on Sunday by the 7Line, they're once again going to throw out the first pitch, but they are barred from wearing Mets or 7Line gear. Last year, a man known as the "General" started the game by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. He did so in a Mets jersey.

The 7Line is an independently owned clothing brand supporting the Mets players and their fans, and they travel well. The group hits different ballparks over the summer and Philly is an easy one since it's about 100 miles away from Citi Field.

If you're surprised the defending National League champions are allowing their rivals to throw out the opening pitch before a game, it's a perk for groups who buy more than 500 tickets to a game.

And there will be other Mets fans in the stands. It's not unusual to see Mets fans at Citizens Bank Park, and when the Phillies play in New York, their fans often travel to watch. The two teams have built up quite the rivalry over the years, and it seems to get more heated the better the teams are.

Both teams have hopes of making the World Series and bringing home a title, but they have some work to do. The Phillies (20-21) are sitting in third place with the Mets a half-game behind.

Last year both teams made the playoffs as Wild Cards with the Braves winning the NL East.

The 7Line is happy to throw out the first pitch, but a quick look at their Twitter page will tell you they're not particularly fond of the Phillies.

I wonder if they'll get booed?
