NY Jets vs. Buffalo Bills: Our expert Week 11 NFL picks for this AFC East game

The Jets (4-5, third in AFC East) are on the road for the third time in four weeks as they face the Bills (5-5) this Sunday at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo.

After a disappointing primetime performance in Week 9 versus the Chargers, the Jets dropped their second straight game in a 16-12 loss to the Raiders on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, the Bills got upset 24-22 at home by Russell Wilson and the Broncos on Monday night as Denver won on a 36-yard field goal as time expired.

This matchup will likely decide who makes or misses the playoffs with both teams currently on the outside looking in heading into Week 11.

The first meeting was in Week 1 when QB Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles on the first drive of the game, but the Jets still pulled off the upset, 22-16, in overtime on a 65-yard punt return touchdown by Xavier Gipson.

Here are our staff predictions for this crucial AFC East game between the Jets and Bills:

The Bills are desperate. How desperate? They fired OC Ken Dorsey, even though he had nothing to do with the 12-men-on-the-field penalty that cost them the game against the Broncos. Josh Allen has gambled way too much. But with new OC Joe Brady, you'd expect a different look from the offense. The Jets' offense with Zach Wilson is the problem here.

The pick: Bills 17, Jets 16

Bert Bainbridge

The Bills have arguably been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this year after a 13-win season in 2022. The Jets nearly pulled off the upset in Buffalo a season ago, can they do it this time versus a turnover prone Josh Allen? I think it'll be a one score game yet again between these two division mates but the Bills' end up pulling this one out.

The pick: Bills 20, Jets 17

I could talk myself into the Jets here, especially considering they've won two of their last three against the Bills and seem to match up well with them. But they've also burned me two weeks in a row, and I just can't trust this offense to score enough to pull off the road upset.

The pick: Bills 20, Jets 13

Dave Rivera

Who would've thought the Bills would be in this situation? The Super Bowl contenders have been a huge disappointment this season, and now they'll be fighting just to keep their playoff hopes alive. Meanwhile, as frustrating as the Jets have been, they actually still have a chance to contend in this division. OK, maybe a bit far-fetched here as I see another close-but-no-cigar loss coming their way.

The pick: Bills 19, Jets 13

Brian Marron

Recent history suggests that this game should be close considering that Josh Allen turned the ball over four times in Week 1 against the Jets, and the Bills are second in the NFL with 18 giveaways. Allen has 17 career turnovers against the Jets, his most against any opponent.

Still, it took those turnovers and a miracle punt return in overtime for the Jets to beat the Bills in the last matchup. Since then, New York continues to be incompetent on offense while the defense keeps the game close. Assuming the improbable circumstances of Week 1 do not happen again, the Bills should be able to find a way to win to keep their season from falling off of the rails.

The pick: Bills 23, Jets 13

Steve Edelson

Two of the most disappointing teams in the NFL square off. The Jets, who had a thrilling Week 1 win over Buffalo, haven’t scored a TD in two games, and have just one over the last three. Don’t expect Zach Wilson and the offense to do much better here:

The pick: Buffalo 24, Jets 10

Bob Jordan

Jets can't get a break - of course the Bills are going to be riding a nice bounce after the shakeup at offensive coordinator.

The pick: Bills 31, Jets 14

Chris Iseman

This Jets offense isn't anywhere close to where it needs to be. I have no faith Zach Wilson and the Jets can change that this weekend.

The pick: Bills 28, Jets 10
