North's Walker Mason headlines All-Washington County boys cross country

Here are The Herald-Mail's 2023 All-Washington County high school boys cross country selections:

Runner of the Year

Walker Mason, North Hagerstown

The sophomore won the Washington County title and placed third overall in the Central Maryland Conference championships. He also finished third at both the Rebel Invitational at South Hagerstown and the Run in the Valley at Middletown and placed 12th in 3A West and 31st in Class 3A at the Maryland state meet. Had the county's top 3-mile (16:04.9) and 5K (16:45.0) times.

All-Washington County First Team

Rishi Bhat, North Hagerstown

The junior had the county's best performance by time in the state championships, finishing 30th in Class 3A in 17:13.5. Finished third in the county meet, fourth in the Run in the Valley, fifth in the Rebel Invitational and sixth in the CMC large-school division.

Landon Call, North Hagerstown

The sophomore finished sixth in the county meet, ninth in the Rebel Invitational, 14th in the Run in the Valley, 15th in the CMC large-school division and 28th in 3A West.

Jakob Davidson, Boonsboro

The junior won Smithsburg's Don Stoner Invitational, placed second in 1A West and Catoctin's Cougar Challenge, was third in the CMC small-school division and Clear Spring's Interstate Classic small-school division, finished fourth in the county meet and was sixth in Class 1A at the state meet.

Bradley Helman, North Hagerstown

The junior finished fifth in the county meet and the Run in the Valley, placed eighth in the Rebel Invitational, finished 13th in the CMC large-school division, was 18th in 3A West and placed 46th in Class 3A at states.

Carson Wilt, North Hagerstown

The sophomore finished eighth in the county meet, 10th in the Rebel Invitational, 11th in the Run in the Valley, 25th in the CMC large-school division and 34th in 3A West.

Michael Wynkoop, Smithsburg

The sophomore earned runner-up finishes in the county meet, the CMC small-school division and the Interstate Classic small-school division, finished fourth in 1A West and the Rebel Invitational, and was fifth in Class 1A at the state meet.
