Which Northern Kentucky football teams are in the season's 1st state media poll?

The high school football season is about one-third of the way over and even though district play doesn't start for another week or two, teams across all six classes in the Bluegrass are establishing themselves as the top dogs. Now that the season is three weeks old, it's time to debut the Kentucky High School Football Media Poll.

Each week, 24 journalists from across the state will cast their votes for the top-10 teams in each class. The votes are compiled by Jason Frakes of the Louisville Courier-Journal, and the poll will be released every Wednesday morning.

Fourteen Northern Kentucky teams are included in this season's initial poll, with seven teams appearing in the top-10 of their respective class. Beechwood, which is the three-time reigning champion in Class 2A, debuts at No. 1 just ahead of Lexington Christian. Covington Catholic is the next-highest ranked team, coming in at a tie for second in Class 4A.

Here are the complete polls for each class. First-place votes are in parentheses.
