Northern Iowa wrestling team adds Don Bosco's Kyler Knaack to 2025 recruiting class

Don Bosco wrestler Kyler Knaack committed to the Northern Iowa wrestling team Monday.

"Super excited to announce I will continue my academic and wrestling career at University of Northern Iowa," Knaack said in an Instagram post. "Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, teammates to help me get where I am. I’m excited to start this journey on the Panther train."Knaack is the No. 16-ranked wrestler at 152 pounds nationally according to Flowrestling and was a triple crown winner this summer after winning a 1A state title as a sophomore last spring. Currently a junior, he will be a part of the 2025 class for the Panthers.

Knaack is yet another example of coach Doug Schwab keeping in-state talent in Iowa. The Northern Iowa roster has 20 of its 34 wrestlers from the state of Iowa. Nearly 60% of the team is homegrown talent.
