Northeast Ohio vs. America showcase Aug. 19 games move to Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium

The upcoming Northeast Ohio vs. America high school football showcase had made some adjustments in locations.

Although the Massillon-Valdosta game will remain at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at Paul Brown Stadium, the rest of the games, all slated for Saturday, Aug. 19, will be held at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, the Hall of Fame Village confirmed Wednesday.

“This thrilling football event will bring together some of the nation’s most exceptional athletes for an action-packed day of sportsmanship and camaraderies, showcasing the best and brightest talents in the world of football today,” the HOF Village release stated.

Matt Hankins, founder of the Northeast Ohio Big School HSFB and organizer of the showcase, released a statement about why he decided to relocate the Aug. 19 matchups.

“We think together with the new school construction, a few additional events, this will be the best for our visitors/region in 2023,” Hankins wrote in a news release. “This is an amazing gesture at this stage and [we] value them putting our region first to help create this special day where we can get so many communities involved.”

Here is the official schedule for the Aug. 19 games:

  • St. Edward vs. Center Grove (Ind.), noon

  • Hoban vs. Frederick Douglas (Ky.), 3:55 p.m.

  • Glenville vs. Dinwiddie (Va.), 8 p.m.

According to NFL's Play Football, Valdosta (GA.) is ranked No. 1 nationally in total wins with 941. Massillon is No. 4 with 937.
