North Kingstown edges South Kingstown, 1-0, in Division I field hockey

Brandon Natareno broke a scoreless tie 24 minutes into the first half, on an assist by Fabricio Mariscal, and Chris Gomez made it stand up by making 9 saves in the victory for the Thunderbolts.

Shea 5, Smithfield 2

Tyrell O'Connell, Jbril Ngom, Martim Furtado, Cesar Marroquin and Carlos Andrade scored a goal and the Raiders cruised to victory. Nick Ferro and Noah Albaret had the Sentinels' scores.

Nonleague

Highlander 4, Middlebride 2

Andrew Smith scored all 4 goals and goaltender Chris Martinez made 7 saves as the Hawks prevailed in the Coastal Prep League match. Justin Valdez had two assists for Highlander.

Division IV

Rogers 11, Hope 0

Fallon Bagley scored four goals to pave the way for Rogers' shutout of Hope. Also getting on the scoresheet for the Vikings were Mikayla O'Loughlin, who netted a hat trick, Julia Connelly, with a pair of scores and Amelia Wallace and Adriyonna Lockhart with a goal each.

North Kingstown 1, South Kingstown 0

A first-half goal by North Kingstown's Amelia Knowles turned out to be the only score of the game as the Skippers blanked South Kingstown. Goaltender Danielle Abosso earned the shutout with 9 saves. Naomi Nelson had 6 saves for the Rebels.

GIRLS TENNIS

Division II

Narragansett 6, Lincoln 1

Sam Cronin's 6-3, 6-1 victory over Isabella Ackerman clinched the victory for the Mariners, but the best action of the night probably came at third doubles. It was the longest match of the meet and included a number of rallies but Lincoln's Amelie Archambault-Tanvi Bobbili finally prevailed over Briana Reidy-Eloise Collins, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.

Mackenzie Cleary amassed 10 kills and 3 blocks, Olivia Taylor finished with 20 assists and 2 aces,  Samantha Foster chipped in with 10 digs, 3 kills and 2 aces and Emilia Ferarro had 10 digs and 4 kills as the Broncos broke a 1-1 tie by winning the final two sets.
