North Carolina stays put in latest AP Top 25 poll

The North Carolina Tar Heels completed a 2-0 week with wins over Wake Forest at home and then Florida State on the road. They are now 17-3 overall and 9-0 in the ACC, making a strong push to close out January.

With that 2-0 week, the Tar Heels maintained their spot in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll at No. 3. North Carolina is still behind No. 1 UConn and No. 2 Purdue. Houston checked in at No. 4 and Tennessee was right behind them at No. 5.

For the ACC, they had just two teams ranked as UNC was No. 3 and Duke shot up the rankings to No. 7, moving up five spots after their two wins this week including beating Clemson in the final seconds.

The good news for the ACC is that Virginia did receive votes in the poll as it’s been a struggle overall for the conference this season.

North Carolina stays on the road this Tuesday to face off against Georgia Tech and then will welcome in Duke on Saturday.
