Here are the nominees for the Fond du Lac Reporter/Oshkosh Northwestern Athlete of the Week: Week of May 6-11

The Lomira softball three-week streak of athletes of the week has officially been broken.

Congratulations to Oshkosh West girls' soccer junior Taylin Heiman on being voted the Fond du Lac Reporter/Oshkosh Northwestern High School Athlete of the Week for the week of April 29-May 4!

Heiman received 673 out of 2,886 total votes cast (23.32%) after scoring in each of the Wildcats' games and assisting on a goal in a pair of West victories (5-0 on Tuesday; 3-1 on Thursday) over their conference rivals, Oshkosh North and Fond du Lac, respectively.

Here are this week's nominees, representing 10 area schools in five different sports, for the Fond du Lac Reporter/Oshkosh Northwestern High School Athlete of the Week (Week of May 6-11):

TYLER SACHEN/KYLER BOWE/OWEN BONG, Campbellsport baseball: Sachen hit a 3-run home run and Bowe went 2-for-4 in a 4-2 victory over Mayville on Wednesday. Sachen kept things rolling at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs in a 5-4 win over the Cardinals, the following night, and Bowe added another couple of hits in five at-bats. Finally, in game one of Saturday's doubleheader - a 4-2 win over Grafton - Bowe pitched six innings for the win with six strikeouts while going 2-for-4 at the plate, scoring twice, and Sachen collected a hit and an RBI. Then in game two, Bong threw a complete game no-hitter with six Ks against New Holstein to lead the Cougars to their ninth win in a row while Sachen and Bowe each collected RBIs.

SAWYER SHULTIS/CAMDEN SMIT/COLTON HAGNER, Laconia baseball: In game two of a doubleheader against No. 6 (D-3) Lomira on Thursday, Shultis led off with a home run against the Lions' Josh Steger (his first earned run allowed all season), Smit doubled, and Hagner hit a two-run home run to immediately give the Spartans a 3-0 lead on the reigning unanimous Flyway conference player of the year.

JACK LUEDTKE/EASTON ZANGL/JOSH STEGER, Lomira baseball: Luedtke had four hits and Zangl followed with three hits in Monday's 11-1 victory over Markesan. Steger picked up the win in game one of a doubleheader against No. 2 (D-3) Laconia on Thursday after pitching four innings, allowing one hit with seven strikeouts. Luedtke went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Zangl was 3-for-4 with a run, and Steger helped his own cause with a 3-run home run. Then in game two, Zangl was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Steger was 1-for-3 with a walk, double, and run scored.

MASON GERTH, Mayville baseball: Gerth threw a 5-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk allowed in Friday's 11-0 victory over Luther Prep.

ETHAN PETERSON/TY FARIS/SAM FERGUSON, Winnebago Lutheran baseball: Peterson collected three hits, including a home run, and Faris notched the save after closing out the final two innings, striking out four in Monday's 4-2 victory over Winneconne. In Wednesday's 6-4 victory over St. Mary Springs, Peterson doubled, and Ferguson pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win on the mound while also executing a perfect two-strike suicide squeeze to help give the Vikings the lead. In Thursday's 6-4 win over St. Mary's Springs, Faris had two hits, including a double. In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader - an 11-1 victory over Weyauwega-Fremont - Ferguson racked up 12 strikeouts over five innings to earn the win and Peterson collected three more hits. Then finally, in game two - a 5-4 walk-off victory over Berlin - Faris scored the game-winning run.

AUBREY MAURER/ADDI MAURER/LILY SCHULTZ, Laconia softball: Aubrey Maurer homered in Monday's 7-6 loss to St. Mary's Springs, then followed up with another home run and a double in three at-bats in Thursday's 2-1 victory over No. 3 (D-3) Mayville. Addi Maurer tossed seven innings, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out 11 to earn the win against the Cardinals. Then in Friday's 15-0 three-inning victory over Omro, Schultz threw a perfect game, needing just 39 pitches (28 strikes) to strike out seven of the nine batters she faced. Aubrey Maurer went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two driven in and Schultz helped herself out with two hits in three at-bats, including a triple, with two runs and two RBIs.

SAVANNA FREA/TRISTA GASSNER/HALEIGH CASPARY/TAYLOR BLOOHM, Lomira softball: Frea drove in Gassner to score the lone run in Thursday's 1-0 victory over Campbellsport. Caspary allowed two hits, walked two, and struck out six over seven innings to earn the win in the circle. In Saturday's doubleheader: Gassner went 4-for-5 with two doubles, five runs scored and two RBIs; Bloohm was 4-for-6 with five runs scored and three RBIs; and Frea went 3-for-5 with five RBIs. Caspary picked up another win in game two.

COLLEEN FITZPATRICK/ALAYNA SADOWSKA, Oshkosh West softball: Fitzpatrick doubled and tripled in three at-bats of Wednesday's 2-0 loss to No. 1 (D-1) Kaukauna, then added a double and home run with two RBIs in Thursday's 4-3 victory over Kimberly. Sadowska collected three hits, including a double, and drove in four runs while earning the win in the circle after a complete game, allowing one run to score, in Friday's 5-4 win over Oshkosh North.

GRACIE KONKOL/MALIYAN GALLIGAN/AUBREY HAFERMANN, St. Mary's Springs softball: Konkol drove in three on an inside-the-park home run, walked, scored twice, and earned the win in the circle in Monday's 7-6 victory over Laconia. Galligan threw a perfect game with 10 strikeouts and Hafermann collected three hits with four RBIs in Thursday's 11-0 win over Omro.

KAILIE WESTPHAL/ADDISON BRAUN/LEXIE GERRITSON, Waupun softball: Westphal went 2-for-3 with an RBI, becoming just the fifth player in program history to reach 100 career hits, in a 4-3 victory over Winneconne on Friday. Braun threw a complete game with 12 strikeouts. The very next day, in game one of a doubleheader - a 10-1 win over Oakfield - Gerritson singled in her first at-bat to become the sixth player in program history with 100 career hits. She finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and Westphal went 3-for-5 with two runs driven in. Braun pitched six innings to earn another win, allowing just an unearned run on two hits and two walks with five strikeouts.

ANNA TREWIN/MADDIE ANHALT, Winnebago Lutheran softball: In Monday's 11-1 victory over Omro: Trewin collected three hits, including a home run, and Anhalt threw four innings in the circle, allowing a run on two hits while striking out 10 and tallying two hits for herself. In Thursday's 7-2 win over North Fond du Lac: Anhalt led with three hits while Trewin added a pair, including a triple, and three runs scored. Anhalt earned the win in the circle, allowing just three hits. Finally, Trewin added two more hits in Friday's 15-8 non-conference win over Eastern Wisconsin conference co-leader, Valders.

WILL MAUTHE, Fond du Lac boys golf: Mauthe shot a 33 overall (-3) to lead the Cardinals to a 158-158 draw against Appleton West at Winagamie on Tuesday, followed by a team-low 36 to help Fondy pick up the 151-162 win over Appleton North on Thursday, finally wrapping up his week with an even 36 to lead Fondy to a 157-164 victory over Kimberly at Rolling Meadows on Friday.

TYLER HOFFMANN/KHALIL REBEK, St. Mary's Springs boys golf: Hoffmann shot a 38 overall to take first place twice, individually, also leading the Ledgers to team wins in both legs of a Flyway conference doubler on Wednesday, hosted by North Fond du Lac and Winnebago Lutheran, respectively. Rebek also shot a 38 in the second leg to claim an individual win, and tied for first, again, with a second 38 at Friday's meet, hosted by Mayville, helping SMSA to their third team win of the week.

LAUREN RUIS/KILEY BEER, Central Wisconsin Christian girls soccer: Ruis scored all four goals and Beer had two assists in Thursday's 4-0 victory over Omro. Ruis followed with four more goals and Beer added a hat trick with five more assists in Saturday's 11-0 win over Campbellsport.

BRENDAN GAERTIG, St. Mary's Springs track and field: Gaertig placed second at Friday's conference meet, breaking a school record in the pole vault with a score of 12 feet-9 inches.
