No. 4 seed Buffs to host St. Bonaventure in NIT opener

On Sunday evening, the Colorado Buffaloes earned themselves a spot in the 2022 National Invitation Tournament as a No. 4 seed. Colorado’s 21-11 record this year wasn’t enough to earn an NCAA Tournament bid, but this young squad of Buffaloes will surely embrace the opportunity they’ve been given to play more March basketball.

With the distinction of a No. 4 seed, the Buffs will host at least one more home game as well. They’ll start by welcoming St. Bonaventure on Tuesday at 9 p.m. MT for a first round NIT matchup. Hailing from the Atlantic 10 conference, the Bonnies are 20-9 this season and hold a NET ranking of 85. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

If the Buffs can pull off a win, they’ll play either the 18-15 Oklahoma Sooners or the 23-10 Missouri State Bears in the second round. The NIT semifinals and championship game are set to be played at Madison Square Garden in New York City on March 29 and 31, respectively.
