No. 3 Minneapolis North cruises past Bemidji in tournament-opening game

Dec. 27—HIBBING — The Bemidji High School basketball team played against one of the top Class AA teams in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Third-ranked Minneapolis North beat the Lumberjacks 101-83 in the first round of Hibbing's holiday basketball tournament. The Polar Bears scored 60 points in the first half en route to a convincing win.

Zashon Rich led Minneapolis North with 24 points. Jaxon Boschee had a game-high 33 for BHS. Owen Frazer (18 points), Austin Reiwer (13) and Braden Luksik (11) also ended in double figures. Lukik had 13 rebounds, while Riewer had nine.
