Nikola Vucevic inks contract extension with Chicago Bulls
The NBA offseason is here and free agency is about to begin. Prior to that upcoming frenzy, the Chicago Bulls signed former USC Trojans star Nikola Vucevic to a new contract. The extension is three years and worth $60 million, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
This past season, Vucevic averaged 17.6 PPG with 11 rebounds and a 52-percent shooting clip while playing in every game for the Bulls. Since coming over in a deadline deal with the Orlando Magic a few years ago, Vucevic has been productive enough to be retained by the Bulls for three more seasons.
Vucevic will turn 33 years old at the start of this season. He will remain with the core of DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, assuming no other big trades are made by the Bulls this summer. Vucevic was selected 16th overall in the 2011 NBA draft after a terrific career at USC, and now the Trojans’ duo with DeRozan and Vucevic should remain together for the next few years.
