NHL Stadium Series at MetLife: What to know about Devils vs Flyers, Rangers vs Islanders

The 2024 NHL Navy Federal Credit Union Stadium Series matchups between the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers on Feb. 17, 2024 and New York Rangers versus New York Islanders on Feb. 18, 2024 at MetLife Stadium are rapidly approaching.

For the Rangers, this will be their fifth outdoor game in team history and their first since New Year's Day 2018 when they defeated the Buffalo Sabres, 3-2, in overtime at Citi Field.

The four teams have combined to go 5-5-1 in 11 outdoor games, including the Rangers winning all four of their matchups.

On Wednesday , NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, NHLPA executive director Marty Walsh, Gov. Phil Murphy and representatives from each of the four teams among others gathered for a news conference at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

"When you think about how much hockey means to this area and the number of people that are involved with the game at all levels," Bettman said, "there's no better place to fill this magnificent 80,000 seat stadium (twice) in less than 24 hours.

"It's going to be a great weekend."

What time, channel is Devils vs Flyers NHL Stadium Series game?

The first NHL Stadium Series game will be between the Devils and Flyers on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. The game will be aired on ABC and stream on ESPN+.

What time, channel is Rangers vs Islanders NHL Stadium Series game?

The second of the Stadium Series games will be Sunday, Feb. 18 with puck drop at 3 p.m. Just like the Devils-Flyers, the Rangers-Islanders game will air on ABC and stream on ESPN+.

Tickets are now available at Ticketmaster, the official ticketing partner of the NHL, for both mid-February matchups.

Bettman advised hockey fans to "buy your tickets now 'cause they're going to go quick."

Fan fest, concert at NHL Stadium Series

Bettman added that there will be a fan fest with more details announced at a later date as well as a concert that will take place during Saturday night's festivities.

"People are going to be thrilled that they were here for this once-in-a-lifetime experience," Bettman stated.

While there have been outdoor games played in Philadelphia and New York in years past, the NHL commissioner will host his first outdoor series in the state he lives in as he resides in Saddle River with his wife and three children.
