NFL Thanksgiving Day schedule 2023: How to watch, stream matchups including Packers-Lions

If part of your Thanksgiving Day traditions include a good dose of NFL football, you're in luck this year with three matchups set to kickoff throughout the holiday.

The scheduled slate of games will begin with the Green Bay Packers taking on the Detroit Lions, a rivalry game that has been a mainstay feature of Thanksgiving Day football for decades.

After that, NFC East rivals the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders will play in the Lone Star state.

And, to wrap up the football festivities to accompany Turkey Day, fans will get a key NFC West showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and rival San Francisco 49ers, who are both vying for the best record in the division.

Here's a breakdown of what fans need to know for the NFL's Thanksgiving schedule.

How to watch the Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions game on Thanksgiving

The Packers and Lions will kick things off at 12:30 p.m. ET on Thanksgiving Day. The game will be televised on Fox.

Fans can stream the game through streaming services that carry Fox, including YouTube TV or Fubo. The game can also be streamed on FoxSports.com or through the Fox Sports App with a valid subscription login.

Folks can also watch Fox via an over-the-air antenna.

Who is Jack Harlow? American rapper and singer will be halftime performer for Packers vs Lions Thanksgiving Day game

The Detroit Lions announced that Jack Harlow will be the halftime performer for their game against the rival Packers on Thanksgiving.

According to reporting from the Detroit Free Press, "Harlow, a six-time Grammy-nominated Louisville rapper, will handle halftime duties, two quarters after country duo The War and Treaty perform the national anthem for the Thanksgiving matchup Nov. 23 against the rival Green Bay Packers."

If you're unfamiliar with Harlow's musical career, you may recognize him from starring in the 2023 remake of the classic basketball movie, "White Men Can't Jump."

How to watch the Washington Commanders vs Dallas Cowboys game on Thanksgiving

The Commanders and Cowboys will pick up where the Packers and Lions leave off at 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

Since the game is on CBS, fans can stream the game through the Paramount+ streaming service with a paid subscription. It can likewise be streamed through services like YouTube TV or Fubo.

As with the other games on the calendar, this game can be watched over-the-air with an antenna that picks up the feed.

Country music icon Dolly Parton to perform halftime show for Commanders vs Cowboys Thanksgiving game

The Dallas Cowboys announced on X (previously Twitter) that country music legend Dolly Parton will perform at halftime of their game against Washington.

In the announcement, Parton rings a Salvation Army army bell. The Salvation Army is the sponsor of the annual Red Kettle Kickoff halftime show the Cowboys have put on during every Thanksgiving game they've played for the last 27 years.

Parton says in the announcement video, "I'll see y'all this Thanksgiving!"

How to watch the San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks game on Thanksgiving

The trio of Thanksgiving NFL games rounds out with another rivalry showdown featuring the Niners and Seahawks. The game is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET and will air on NBC.

Fans can stream the game via YouTube TV and/or Fubo, or through NBC's companion streaming app Peacock with a subscription login.

The game will also be broadcast over-the-air for folks with an antenna that picks up local stations.

The Seattle Seahawks announced on their website that they "will celebrate their first ever Thanksgiving Day home game with a special halftime performance from two-time Grammy nominee, multi-platinum artist and dance music icon, Steve Aoki."

Part of Aoki's performance on Thanksgiving will include a light show at primetime on Lumen Field.

According to the announcement from the Seahawks, fans who attend the game will receive light up wristbands upon entry, allowing them to be a part of the show.

Though the Super Bowl is the NFL product best known for showy halftime performances, the Thanksgiving slate will give music fans plenty to watch for throughout the day as well.
