Entering week four of the 2016 NFL Preseason campaign, teams are close to making final roster decisions. Most starters not playing opens the doors for backups to make an impression before the final roster cuts take place.

Though not as heavily weighted as the regular season, I will be putting on my best thinking helmet and attempting to try and predict the extremely unpredictable for week four of the NFL preseason. Here’s four things we might see…

Christian Hackenberg struggles against Eagles

Splitting reps with fellow backup Bryce Petty against the Philadelphia Eagles, Christian Hackenberg enters the game with almost nothing to gain or lose. Head coach Todd Bowles has already softly endorsed Geno Smith as the second string QB meaning this battle is unlikely to have a major effect on the depth chart.

That said, with nothing to gain or lose, Christian Hackenberg will struggle to match the same heights we have seen out of him this preseason. At least two interceptions and no touchdowns, Hackenberg will not instill any faith in him from the Jets fanbase.

Joey Bosa gets three sacks in Chargers debut

Ending his holdout earlier this week and finally signing a rookie contract with the San Diego Chargers, Joey Bosa will show the rest of the league why he was the fourth overall pick. Making his home debut against the 49ers, Bosa is a monster at defensive end and records his fare share of tackles during the contest.

However, the most memorable part of the night will be Bosa’s three sacks on San Francisco quarterbacks which he follows with a salute to the American flag after each. If there was any doubt that Bosa is ready for the NFL after his holdout, it ends here.

Vikings surprise with Shaun Hill

Losing star quarterback Teddy Bridgewater for the entire season with a torn ACL and dislocated knee, the Minnesota Vikings begin to develop a new run heavy gameplan against the LA Rams.

The run heavy offense sees C.J. Ham, Jerick McKinnon, and Matt Asiata all produce some big numbers during their time on the field. That said, two of the Vikings three touchdowns will surprisingly come through the air off the arm of new starting quarterback Shaun Hill.

Raiders and Seahawks have a high scoring affair

In the final game of the preseason, the Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks give sports media outlets across the country a highlight filled and high scoring affair to help build anticipation until the beginning of the regular season the following Thursday night.

With a final score of 38-35, defense is almost non-existent as both teams backups try to prove their worth before the final roster cuts. The best performer of the night is DeAndre Washington who rushes for close to 100-yards and scores two touchdowns.
