NFL playoff picture Week 13: Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts join postseason field

There is shifting in NFL postseason seeding every week, with some teams falling out of position to make the NFL Playoffs as others rise into position to make the postseason field.

The Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts are the latest to rise into playoff position.

Thanks to their win over the New Orleans Saints in NFL Week 12, the Falcons have climbed six spots in the NFC playoff standings, moving all the way to No. 4, putting itself in line to host a postseason game if the playoffs were to being before Week 13.

The Colts, thanks to their win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, rose two spots to No. 7, putting the team in position to land the No. 7 and final AFC playoff berth right now.

The top seed in each conference gets a bye in the wild card round of the NFL postseason and the other division winners get the No. 2 through No. 4 seeds.

The No. 5, No. 6 and No. 7 seeds go to the non-division winners with the best records.

The Baltimore Ravens and the Philadelphia Eagles currently have the best records in their respective conferences and the coveted playoff bye week that comes with it.
