NFL flexes Chiefs vs. Patriots out of Monday night slot in Week 15

The Kansas City Chiefs now have one less prime-time game this season as their upcoming Week 15 matchup has been flexed out of “Monday Night Football.” The game against the New England Patriots will be played on Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. ET and will air on Fox, the NFL announced today. The Philadelphia Eagles vs. Seattle Seahawks game will move to Monday night (8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN).

This is the first season in which flex-schedule rules apply to Monday night games (Week 12 onward), and it’s the first time the league has used that option.

The Chiefs are leading the AFC West on the road to clinching another postseason spot, while the Patriots are in last place in the AFC East. The draw of the first-place Eagles and playoff-contending Seahawks propelled them into the prime-time slot.

Week 15 will also feature a Saturday tripleheader on NFL Network:
