NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Where Texas RB Bijan Robinson is projected to land

The start of the 2023 NFL Draft is just two weeks away.

NFL mock drafts are running rampant across national media sites, and the landing spot for Texas running back Bijan Robinson still remains uncertain.

Some mock drafts have Robinson being taken off of the board in the middle of the first round, while others have him selected with one of the final few picks on Day 1.

The one thing nearly all NFL Draft experts can agree on is that Robinson is a top five overall prospect in this draft class. However, due to the value of the position, it’s unknown how early a team will pull the trigger on the No. 1 running back.

The Detroit Lions are becoming a favorite destination for Robinson recently with the No. 18 overall pick. Here’s a look at where the most recent mock drafts project Robinson to land.

  • Detroit Lions select Bijan Robinson with the No. 18 overall pick

  • “I have to believe the best running back in this year’s class will be considered multiple times in the first half of Round 1. He makes it to the Lions at No. 18 here, giving the Motor City two of the top five overall prospects on my colleague Daniel Jeremiah’s big board.” Charles Davis

  • Atlanta Falcons select Bijan Robinson with the No. 16 overall pick

  • “The Falcons like this idea more so after the trade back than at No. 8 overall. Arthur Smith adores the run game and coached in-his-prime Derrick Henry in Tennessee. A fun addition to an offense with young skill-position talent.” Chris Trapasso

  • Baltimore Ravens select Bijan Robinson with the No. 22 overall pick

  • “If Texas running back Bijan Robinson is still on the board at No. 22, the Baltimore Ravens should pounce. Not only would they be adding another weapon to entire quarterback Lamar Jackson to a long-term deal, but Robinson is a top-five prospect in this year’s draft regardless of position. This might appear like a run-based team adding more to its run game. But Robinson would provide so much more than just that.” – Bleacher Report

  • Detroit Lions select Bijan Robinson with the No. 18 overall pick

  • “People keep telling me Robinson won’t last into the 20s. He’s that good. It’s just really tough to find the perfect landing spot for him because teams finally understand the value of running backs in Round 1. So I’m going to follow Todd McShay’s lead and slot in Robinson to Detroit. Why? Because he’d be better in 2023 than D’Andre Swift, who is a free agent next year, and because he’d bring a receiving threat to the offense that free agent signing David Montgomery just doesn’t have. Robinson is a luxury pick, but the Lions really don’t have that many needs. They can afford a luxury selection here.” – Mel Kiper

  • Detroit Lions select Bijan Robinson with the No. 18 overall pick

  • “This pick is for the fans that still appreciate the run game, and it’s a perfect landing spot to get the most value out of Robinson. He was one of the most elusive players in college during his Texas career, catches the ball well and can be a reliable piece in pass protection. Behind Detroit’s line, in a scheme that wants to use every run concept under the sun, this fit has explosive potential. The Lions’ first-rounders here put them squarely in NFC North contention.” – Diante Lee

  • Los Angeles Chargers select Bijan Robinson with the No. 21 overall pick

  • “Los Angeles will likely not find any suitors for Austin Ekeler via trade so the two parties are on a path of a mutual parting of ways after the season. In the meantime, Bijan Robinson gives them a player capable of wearing down defenses late.” – Josh Edwards

  • Buffalo Bills select Bijan Robinson with the No. 27 overall pick

  • “The Bills have some pressing needs at more premium positions, but their offense desperately needs balance, and that won’t come without a stud at running back who can keep opposing defenses honest, and take pressure off Josh Allen and the passing game. Robinson may play an undervalued position, but he’s a top-three overall talent in this entire draft, making him a massive steal this late in the first round. He would be particularly dangerous in this offense, where his three-down skill set would make for a scary combination with Allen and Stefon Diggs.” – Luke Easterling
