NFL fining Dolphins' Tyreek Hill $7,000 for not wearing socks
MIAMI GARDENS — A $7,000 pair of socks?
Even for Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill, who has a $120 million contract, that’s too much to stomach.
Hill told The Post on Thursday that he was notified by the NFL he’s being fined about $7,000 as a result of the game against the Denver Broncos.
Hill’s infraction?
“I got fined, though, for my socks,” he said.
Socks?
“Yeah, I got fined for my socks.”
How?
“So in the Broncos game, the first touchdown, I didn’t have any socks on at all,” Hill said. “But I was getting an IV and I didn’t want to be late for the play. So I didn’t have time to put on my socks.”
That shriek in the Dolphins’ locker room came when Hill opened the envelope from the league.
“It was like $7,000, but I’m appealing and when I appeal it’s probably going to get reduced,” Hill said.
At least he hopes so. Because $7,000 for a pair of socks? Whoever heard of a Cheetah wearing socks, anyway?
“Crazy,” Hill said.
