NFL draft history: Every No. 18 overall pick since 2000

The Eagles shook up the NFL draft boards after a blockbuster trade that saw general manager Howie Roseman trade pick No. 16, No. 19, and No. 194 to the Saints for pick No. 18, No. 101, No. 237, a 2023 first-round pick, and a 2024 second-rounder, as well.

Philadelphia now has two first-round picks in 2022, an extra third-round pick in 2022, along with pushing a first-round pick back to 2023 and also accumulating an extra second-round pick in 2022.

With picks No. 16 and No. 19 now the property of the Saints, it’s time that we look at the NFL draft history of pick No. 18.

2021: Dolphins -- DE Jaelan Phillips, Miami Hurricanes

A Miami Hurricane product, Phillips was selected by the Dolphins, playing in all 17 games (5 starts), while logging 42 tackles, 8.5 sacks (Dolphins rookie record), 16 quarterback hits, and 9 tackles for loss.

2020: Dolphins -- OT Austin Jackson, USC

In his first two years, Jackson has played in 30 games with 28 starts at both guard and tackle and he’ll likely be replaced by Conner Williams.

2019: Vikings -- C Garrett Bradbury, NC State

In his first three years in the NFL, the Vikings’ center has started 45 games. Bradbury was ranked as the 29th-best center in the NFL by PFF in 2021.

2018: Packers -- CB Jaire Alexander, Louisville

2017: Titans - - CB Adoree’ Jackson, USC

Jackson spent the first four seasons of his career with the Titans, starting 41 of 46 appearances.

Jackson joined the Giants on a three-year, $21 million contract last offseason, starting 12 games in 2021.

2016: Colts -- C Ryan Kelly, Alabama

Kelly has turned into a three-time Pro Bowler after getting drafted out of Alabama.

2015: Chiefs -- CB Marcus Peters, Washington

Drafted by the Chiefs out of the Pac-12, Peters was a Pro Bowler in each of his first two seasons and was an All-Pro in 2016. The Chiefs traded Peters to the Rams in 2018, and he was then traded to the Ravens in 2019.

Peters missed the entire 2021 season with an ACL tear.

2014: Jets -- S Calvin Pryor, Louisville

Drafted by the Jets, Pryor played in 44 games with 38 starts from 2014-2016 before they traded him to the Browns.

Pryor was out of the league by 2017.

2013: 49ers -- S Eric Reid, LSU

Drafted out of LSU and named to the Pro Bowl as a rookie, Reid played five years with San Francisco before joining the Panthers for two seasons.

2012: Chargers -- Edge Melvin Ingram, South Carolina

During his nine seasons with the now-Los Angeles Chargers, Ingram had 49 sacks and three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2017-19.

Ingram is now a free agent after spending 2021 with the Steelers and Chiefs.

2011: Chargers -- DL Corey Liuget, Illinois

Liuget played eight seasons with the Chargers, logging 24 sacks in 103 games.

2010: Steelers -- C Maurkice Pouncey, Florida

The former Florida star and twin brother of Mike Pouncey, Maurkice made the Pro Bowl in nine of his 10 NFL seasons and was an All-Pro twice.

2009: Broncos -- DE Robert Ayers, Tennessee

Ayers played five seasons with the Broncos before spending two seasons with the Giants and Bucs.

Ayers’ had 34 1/2 sacks during his career.

2008: Ravens -- QB Joe Flacco, Delaware

The Super Bowl XLVII MVP, Flacco spent 10 years in Baltimore before moving on.

2007: Bengals -- CB Leon Hall, Michigan

Hall spent nine seasons in Cincinnati, logging 26 interceptions in 121 games.

2006: Cowboys -- LB Bobby Carpenter, Ohio State

2005: Vikings -- DE Erasmus James, Wisconsin

James played in 15 games with 9 starts and had 4 sacks as a rookie, but played in eight games over the next two seasons before he was traded to Washington and out of the league.

2004: Saints -- DE Will Smith, Ohio State

The Saints drafted Smith out of Ohio State and he logged almost 68 sacks in 139 games with 120 starts for New Orleans. A Pro Bowler and Super Bowl winner with the Saints, Smith was fatally shot after a car accident in 2016.

2003: DE Calvin Pace, Wake Forest

Pace had 60 sacks during 13 seasons with the Jets and Cardinals.

2002: RB T.J. Duckett, Michigan State

The former Spartans bulldozer spent his first four years in Atlanta with his best season coming in 2003 after he logged 779 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.
