NFL-Colts agree to re-sign TE Allen

March 7 (Reuters) - The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to re-sign tight end Dwayne Allen, the NFL team said on Monday. Allen, who was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, would ink a new four-year deal worth nearly $30 million, according to multiple media reports. The Colts see big potential in the 26-year-old, who has been hit by a series of injuries and missed 21 games in his last three seasons. "Besides the broad skill set and overall talent level he brings, Dwayne's tenacity and physicality has always been what has set him apart from the beginning," Indianapolis General Manager Ryan Grigson said in a statement. Allen caught just 16 passes in 13 games last season for the Colts, who were hampered by the loss of quarterback Andrew Luck for an extended time. Allen previously shared the tight end role with Coby Fleener, who caught 54 balls in 2015 and is also a pending free agent. (Writing by Jahmal Corner in Los Angeles; Editing by Peter Rutherford)
