NFL fans no longer will need to subscribe to a cable or satellite television provider to get their Sunday football fix.

The NFL Network and NFL RedZone channel will now be available to football fans this season via a streaming service the league launched last year.

The league announced Thursday that NFL Network and NFL RedZone will be available on “NFL+,” a direct-to-consumer service.

Brian Rolapp, the NFL’s Chief Media and Business Officer, said offering both channels direct to consumer is something that has been in the league plans for awhile.

“We had always felt that what we do at NFL Network and given the changing landscape, we wanted to be able to offer it digitally,” he told The Associated Press. “Last year was an important step in doing that in launching NFL+. When it exceeded our expectations, we knew we had a base to work off of and allowed us to prepare what we needed to do. And we’re fortunate that’s coming together this year.”

The standard NFL+ package will cost $6.99 a month and the premium NFL+ package is $14.99 a month. Annual pricing is $39.99 for the standard and $79.99 for the premium package.

The standard package includes access to a live NFL Network feed as well as locally broadcast and primetime regular season and postseason games on mobile devices and tablets, along with game audio, the NFL Films content library, and out-of-market preseason games on all devices.

The premium plan includes everything in the standard package as well as the full, condensed, and all-22 films. In addition, the NFL RedZone channel that airs on Sundays is included.

RedZone is typically available on an additional premium sports tier with cable or satellite television. With NFL Sunday Ticket on You Tube TV, RedZone costs $40 annually.

According to Nielsen’s cable estimates, NFL Network is available to 51.1 million customers, which is the most for a network run by a professional league or college conference. NFL RedZone has also gained increased distribution the past couple of years as the league has renewed its carriage agreements with cable, satellite and streaming providers.
