In next 4 weeks, tickets for Packers-Falcons game cheapest; Raiders' game in Las Vegas is most expensive

GREEN BAY ‒ The next four weeks give Green Bay Packers fans a shot at one of the best deals of the season, as well as the most expensive game.

Next up is Sunday's game in Atlanta, which has an average get-in price of $85. And four weeks later is the game in Las Vegas, where the average get-in price is $413. That price is determined by averaging the lowest prices at 11 secondary market sellers.

The Packers' season, and the Jordan Love era, got off to a good start when Green Bay defeated the Chicago Bears 38-20 Sunday at Soldier Field. It was Love's second start and his first as Aaron Rodgers' successor, and if Green Bay wins again in Atlanta, don't be surprised if secondary market prices tick up. For what it's worth, as Pete Dougherty pointed out in his column Sunday, Aaron Rodgers won his first two games in 2008, and then the Packers finished the year 6-10.

Also, for what it's worth, the next four teams on the Packers' schedule all won last week.

First up is the game at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium, ranked by USA Today as one of the best stadiums in the NFL. The Falcons defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-10 in Atlanta. USA Today ranked Lambeau Field as the best stadium in the NFL, but Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium was third. And there are direct flights from Green Bay to Atlanta, all of which could make this an attractive road game.

The Packers host the New Orleans Saints at noon Sept. 24, when the average get-in price is $173, unchanged from three weeks ago. A noon game at Lambeau in September is popular regardless of the opponent. The Saints defeated the Tennessee Titans 16-15 and play at Carolina this week.

What follows are two of the biggest games of the year for the Packers, a Thursday night game against the Detroit Lions because of its whose-division-is-this implications and the game in Las Vegas because it's off-the-charts expensive.

The Lions defeated the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs 21-20 in the season's first game. Detroit hosts the Seahawks and the Falcons before coming to Lambeau Field, where the average get-in price is $171, up $2 from August. Secondary marketplace TicketSmarter reported the overall average price was $344, with all prices ranging from $134 to $1,470.

In August, the average get-in price for the game in Detroit on Thanksgiving Day was $246, a marked increase from the less than $100 average of the past several seasons. The Lambeau game on Sept. 28 might be higher if not for the fact that it's a Thursday night Gold package game. Gold package ticket holders come mostly from Milwaukee and southern Wisconsin, which makes weekday games a challenge.

The Lions, a perennial disappointment to their fans and one of four teams to never appear in a Super Bowl, seem to be on a different tack this year. Coach Dan Campbell has instilled a different attitude in Detroit, which finished 9-8 last year and just missed the playoffs.

The Lions are the Packers' longest continuous rival, and the Packers lead the series 105-75-7. The Bears are Green Bay oldest rival, but the teams did not play during the strike-shortened 1982 season. The Packers did play Detroit that year. Since 2015, it's been a series of streaks, with the Packers winning three, the Lions winning four, the Packers winning five and the Lions winning the last three.

Eleven days after the Lions game, the Packers travel to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for a Monday night game against the Raiders, who defeated the Denver Broncos 17-16 on Sunday. The average get-in price is $413, up $25 from August, which was the same as the lowest price reported by TicketSmarter. The highest price was $5,116 and the overall average was $830.

It is the second most expensive game on the Raiders' schedule, topped only the Sept. 24 game against the Steelers, which has an average ticket price of $879.

The Oct. 9 game is the most expensive on the Packers' schedule and unlikely to be topped by any other game this year, unless the Packers and Bears play for the division championship on the season's last week.

The Packers' bye week follows the Raiders game, which will be their only contest in 23 days, from Sept. 29 to Oct. 22.

The Packers announced they will sell standing-room-only tickets for all home games this season. The face value of SRO tickets is $93. The SRO section is on the fourth level of the south end zone.

As the standing-room-only tickets are designated as not available for resale, any tickets found on the secondary market cannot be verified, so buyers should proceed at their own risk. If fans purchase standing-room-only tickets on the secondary market and encounter issues with the tickets, their only recourse would be to contact the ticket seller.

The get-in price averages do not include standing-room-only tickets.
