The film ‘Wayne’s World’ shares a special place in the hearts of puck heads across the icy land.

Thanks to Chicago Blackhawks backup goaltender Scott Darling, the movie is finally getting the tribute it deserves in the most appropriate way possible – on a hockey mask.

Game on! Thanks @davidofdaveart and @bauergoalie for another great mask #WaynesWorld

Darling collaborated with mask designer to the stars, Dave Gunnarsson, on his new bucket that features cable access hosts Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar of Wayne’s World.

Mike Myers, who wrote and stared in the film, is a staunch Toronto Maple Leafs fan; however, donning Leafs sweaters in Aurora, Illinois (30 miles away from Darling’s hometown) would be sacrilege. He and Carvey put aside all fandom when going into character as Wayne and Garth.

(We’ll give Wayne a pass for the slight jersey foul. Stick tap to Garth for rocking Tony Esposito’s No. 35)

Incidentally, the ‘Game On!’ line became the NHL’s slogan after the 1995 work stoppage and again in 1998.

One of our favorite parts of the mask is the picture of ‘Stan Mikita’s Donuts’ from the film.

Myers is a fan of the Blackhawks legend, and as a proud Canadian, gave a subtle nod to Tim Horton’s by creating this locale.

In the 1993 sequel, Wayne’s World 2, Wayne orders into a giant Stan Mikita head.

How some enterprising puck head with cash to burn hasn’t created this place yet is beyond us.

Darling is expected to backup Corey Crawford coming into the season. We may not see the mask as much as we like, but we’re sure Wayne and Garth still approve.
