Report: Rockets looking to trade Asik

The Houston Rockets seem resigned to trading center Omer Asik as soon as a reasonable deal with another team can be worked out, ESPN.com reported.

Asik started all 82 games for the Rockets last season and averaged 10.1 points and 11.7 rebounds.

He was paired with Dwight Howard in the starting lineup to begin this season, but that has not worked out, and Osik repeatedly has asked to be traded.

He came off the bench and played just four minutes on Wednesday and did not play at all in Thursday's game. He was scratched from Saturday's lineup because he was so unhappy with his new role coming off the bench.

He is averaging 20.7 minutes, 5.0 points and 7.2 rebounds this season.
