NHL Three Stars: Ducks, Penguins pick up Game 4 wins

No. 1 Star: Ryan Getzlaf, Anaheim Ducks

Getzlaf scored two goals and added two assists in a 4-3 Game 4 win over the Edmonton Oilers. This was his first career multi-goal playoff game. He also surpassed Teemu Selanne (35) for the all-time franchise lead in playoff goals (36). With the victory, the Ducks tied their series at 2-2. This is the fourth time in eight instances that the Ducks have tied a series after losing the first two games.

No. 2 Star: Marc-Andre Fleury, Pittsburgh Penguins

Fleury stopped 36 of 38 Washington Capitals shots on goal in a 3-2 Game 4 win. With the victory, the Penguins went up 3-1 on the Capitals. Fleury improved to 7-2 this playoff with a 2.40 goal-against average and .935 save percentage. The Penguins have now gone up 3-1 in a series 17 times and are a combined 13-3 in the previous 16 times they’ve gone up 3-1. Pittsburgh went up 3-1 on the Capitals last season and won that series in six games.

No. 3 Star: Jake Guentzel, Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins rookie scored a goal and added an assist in the victory over the Caps. Guentzel now has eight goals in nine games this postseason. Only Maurice Richard, Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux have scored more goals in their first nine postseason games than Guentzel. His eight goals are now second-most by a U.S. born rookie in NHL history.

Oshie along with defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk each notched one assist. … Anaheim forward Jakob Silfverberg scored the overtime winner 45 seconds into the extra session. … Ducks forward Corey Perry notched an assist and was a plus-3. … Anaheim forward Rickard Rakell scored a goal. … Oilers forward Connor McDavid scored a goal. … Edmonton also got one goal each from forwards Milan Lucic and Drake Caggiula. … Oilers forwards Patrick Maroon and Leon Draisaitl each notched two assists.
