Jim Harbaugh’s full-court press paid off. After the Michigan coach visited Iowa City wideout Oliver Martin at his swimming practice and donned a swim cap, the four-star recruit announced his commitment to the Wolverines on Tuesday night.

Martin made the commitment to Harbaugh in person, so the two, along with new Michigan assistant Pep Hamilton, celebrated accordingly.

What won’t Jim Harbaugh do while recruiting?

The Michigan coach has slept over at a prospect’s house, has practiced without his shirt on and has traveled the globe wearing throwback jerseys of athletes from all sports.

The latest wave he has made comes from donning a yellow swim cap, with goggles attached, in a photo taken with four-star Iowa City receiver Oliver Martin, according to the Detroit News:

Harbaugh visited four-star receiver target Oliver Martin last Wednesday in Iowa City and dropped by his swim practice. After practice, a couple of Martin’s teammates wanted a photo with Harbaugh, and he agreed but only if he could wear the team swim cap and goggles.

That is quite a sight. If only the cap could match the khakis better.

According to Rivals.com, the Wolverines currently have the nation’s No. 4 class ahead of Wednesday’s signing day, during which they will hold a “Signing of the Stars” event for the second straight year. The program has announced several of the expected guests, with former players such as Brandon Graham, Marlin Jackson, Jon Jansen, Jake Rudock and LaMarr Woodley as part of the lineup.

No word yet on if Ric Flair or Derek Jeter will show up again, although we feel pretty confident in saying that Tom Brady won’t make a repeat appearance, given other matters the Patriots’ quarterback has to tend to this week.
