The Green Bay Packers sign guard Jahri Evans

The Green Bay Packers will have the 29th overall pick tomorrow night in the 2017 NFL Draft.

First reported by NFL Network’s Media Insider, Ian Rapoport, the Packers have agreed to terms with offensive guard Jahri Evans.

Evans is a veteran guard than can fill a major need for the Packers. They lost starting guard T.J. Lang in the offseason to the Detroit Lions.

Drafted in 2006, in the 4th round out of Bloomsburg, Evans has had two stints in New Orleans with the Saints.

After coming back, Evans has played every single snap with the Saints. He also has 169 total starts in his career.

That includes a Super Bowl Championship at Super Bowl XLIV.

Evans has shown in the past to be a valuable player making six straight Pro Bowls from 2009-2014. Also voted First-team All-Pro four times.

The Packers will be bringing in a bigger guard weighing over 315 pounds.

While some draft experts have stated the Packers should draft an offensive lineman first in the draft, this move makes in more likely they will wait until the later rounds to address the need.
