Francisco Rivera vs. Ken Stone Set for UFC on FX 4

Francisco Rivera Out of UFC 170 with Broken Hand; Raphael Assuncao Awaits New Opponent

Short notice got him back into the UFC, so why not keep that train rolling?

Francisco Rivera, fresh off a dominant performance over Alex Soto in May, will step in to face Ken Stone at UFC on FX 4 in late June.

Sources close to the match-up confirmed the new fight to MMAWeekly.com on Wednesday. Sherdog.com first reported the new bout.

Edwin Figueroa was originally scheduled for the fight, but a training injury has forced him out just two weeks away from the show.

Following a brief stint in the UFC in 2011, Francisco Rivera exited the promotion and went on to win his next two fights before getting a call back to the big show when an injury opened up a slot on the UFC on Fuel TV 3 show in May.

Rivera took the fight and proceeded to dominate Soto for the better part of 15 minutes to pick up his first win in the Octagon.

Now he'll try to duplicate that success as he faces American Top Team fighter Ken Stone at UFC on FX 4 on June 23 in Atlantic City.
