Former top-10 pick Darrius Heyward-Bey shows off his skills on ridiculous TD

Darrius Heyward-Bey was overdrafted by the Oakland Raiders, and we all laughed a bit because it was such a cliche: Al Davis picking the fastest guy on the board. And Heyward-Bey never lived up to the status of being the seventh overall pick.

But Heyward-Bey still has a lot of skills, and he showed them off on an eye-popping touchdown on Sunday for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Heyward-Bey took a pitch on an end-around, trucked one defender and then sped past everyone in the Miami Dolphins defense (hold your laughter, please) for a 60-yard touchdown.

Wow. Power? Check. Speed? Check.

While Heyward-Bey’s ultimate NFL legacy will be as someone who didn’t produce like we expect a top-10 pick to produce, give him credit for carving out a nice career as a contributor. With the Steelers banged up a bit at receiver on Sunday they knew they could count on Heyward-Bey to fill in nicely.

They probably didn’t expect a beastly 60-yard touchdown run, but there’s a reason he was once a top-10 pick.
