Flyers 5, Jets 3

PHILADELPHIA -- Wayne Simmonds scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period, helping the Philadelphia Flyers rally for a 5-3 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center.

Bradyen Schenn scored two goals and Claude Giroux got one for Philadelphia, which scored three power-play goals to overcome a 3-1 deficit and win for the first time in eight tries when trailing after two periods.

Evander Kane, Olli Jokinen and Alexander Burmistrov scored for the Jets (7-9-1), who were seeking a franchise-best four-game win streak.

The Flyers (9-10-1) have dominated the series, going 33-10-7 against the

Winnipeg/Atlanta franchise.

Ilya Bryzgalov made several big saves to get the win after getting yanked in a 5-2 loss to Florida on Thursday night.

Just 2:39 after Schenn tied it in the third period, he set up the decisive goal. Schenn slid a backhanded pass across the front to Simmonds, who put it into an open net for a 4-3 lead 8:57 into the third.

Goaltender Ondrej Pavelec had no chance to make the save as Simmonds recorded his second Gordie Howe hat trick in four days.

Simmonds also had a goal, assist and fight in a 6-5 win at Pittsburgh on Wednesday. On Saturday, he dropped the gloves against Chris Thorburn in the first and assisted on Schenn's first goal.

Zac Rinaldo added an empty-net goal before the final second ticked off.

All-Star forward Scott Hartnell made a surprising return well ahead of schedule after missing a month with a foot injury. He was held without a point for the Flyers.

Giroux got Philadelphia's comeback started during a two-man advantage in the second period. The Flyers' captain blasted a shot from just outside the left faceoff circle into the top-right corner to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Schenn got the tying goal 6:18 into the third with help from Giroux and Jakub Voracek. Giroux made a nice move skating through a defender and flipped the puck to Voracek, who dropped a backhand pass to the trailing Schenn. He wristed one in for his sixth goal.

Voracek, who also assisted on Giroux's goal, now has five goals and six assists in the last five games. He leads Philadelphia with 21 points in 20 games.

Jokinen snapped a long scoring drought to give the Jets a 2-1 lead on his third goal of the season early in the second period. Blake Wheeler stole the puck from Schenn and passed it to Jokinen, who made a turnaround move on defenseman Bruno Gervais and ripped a slap shot between Bryzgalov's legs.

Midway through the second, Burmistrov's goal made it 3-1. Burmistrov jumped off the ice to deflect in Grant Clitsome's rising one-timer.

Kane gave the Jets a 1-0 lead 4:48 into the game, scoring off a back-door pass from Nik Antropov set it up with a nice move behind the net. Schenn stuffed in a rebound to tie it at 1.
