DETAILS: Ravens finalize cuts to 75; Elam not included
The Baltimore Ravens finalize the speculation, and have trimmed their roster to 75 players ahead of the NFL 4p.m. EDT deadline by making primarily injury-related moves, and then an academic move.
RB Lorenzo Taliaferro was placed on the regular-season Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, thus making him eligible to return to action after 6 weeks. He is dealing with a second Lisfranc surgery and foot issues. He was placed on Injured Reserve (IR) last fall.

Rookie DE Bronson Kaufusi was placed on season-ending IR. He broke his foot in training camp before any preseason games were played, thus accruing no statistics. He was the 3rd round draft pick for the Ravens in April.
T Stephane Nembot was also placed on IR for the Ravens for an undisclosed injury. He played in 32 plays during the first 3 preseason games, but was only on the field for one TD drive.
K Will Lutz performed admirably considering that he was competing against one of the best kickers in the NFL, Jason Tucker. He was also treated respectfully by the Ravens, as a second-round release. He was fourth on the team in scoring with 2/3 FGs and an extra point.
Finally, the move that was expected in many quarters never came. S Matthew Elam is still a part of the team, as we postulated he would be. This would seem to destroy any arguments that he is not good enough. He is simply, injured.
