Bellator signs European prospect Attila Vegh

Bellator Fighting Championships continues their strategy of signing top global talent, and Attila Vegh (24-4-2 MMA, 0-0 BFC) is the company's newest employee.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the signing, which was first reported by Sherdog.com.

An opponent and date for his first appearance for the promotion have yet to be determined, but Vegh is expected to take part in an upcoming light heavyweight tournament.

Vegh currently carries a four-fight win streak that includes a victory over fellow Bellator signee Jonas Billstein and another respected prospect in Marcus Vanttinen (who is also rumored to have signed with Bellator).

The 26-year-old Vegh trains at Slovakia's Octagon Fighting Academy and has earned stoppage wins in 19 of his 24 career victories – including 10 via submission and nine by knockout. Meanwhile, just two of his four career losses have come before the final bell.

Bellator is currently in the middle of its fifth season, which features eight-man tournaments in the bantamweight, welterweight, middleweight, and heavyweight divisions.

While Bellator officials haven't yet officially announced a light heavyweight tournament for 2012, the promotion's sixth season is expected to determine a new contender for current champ Christian M'Pumbu, who was recently defeated in a non-title fight by Travis Wiuff.
