Back Injury Forces Jessica Eye Off Bellator 95 Card

A Bellator 95 bout between Jessica “Evil” Eye and Munah Holland has been nixed.

Eye on Sunday confirmed that she has had to drop out of the fight due to a back injury.

“I will not be fighting @BellatorMMA April 4th,” she tweeted. “I have suffered a terrible back injury that has kept me out of training.”

Eye had been trying to work through it, but eventually had to succumb to the injury and pull out of the fight.

@munah_holland I am sorry and hope that they can reschedule it for June,” Eye apologized via her Twitter account. “The amount of heart break I have faced this week is hard.”

Eye (9-1) has been on an amazing streak, winning her last six fights, which includes submission former Bellator champion Zoila Frausto-Gurgel in December.

Holland (5-2) is trying to bounce back after Michelle Ould defeated her last September, ending Holland’s four-fight winning streak.

Bellator 95 takes place April 4 at Revel in Atlantic City, N.J., and features Bellator featherweight champion Pat Curran defending his belt against Shahbulat Shamhalaev.
