Nets star Kevin Durant buys Major League Pickleball team

Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant is the latest athlete to make an investment in another sports league, as he just purchased the newest Major League Pickleball expansion team.

With help from business partner Rich Kleinman, Thirty Five Ventures, Durant’s investment firm, made the purchase of the expansion team. Kleinman described their interest in the sport as a natural fit, “We can’t wait to build this team from the ground up, as well as work to elevate the sport and the league to unprecedented heights.”.

Major League Pickleball recently had quite a few athletes make investments in their league, with LeBron James, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees all chipping in.

Earlier this offseason a video went viral of Durant playing Pickleball, nobody expected him to invest in the professional league just weeks after.

The Nets forward have made quite a few investments over the last several months, including producing a basketball documentary on New York street basketball.
