Nets’ Ben Simmons says his body is ‘night and day’ from last season

It’s well-known now that Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons has been through the ringer in terms of getting his body to where it is now which is healthy enough for him to play NBA-level basketball with no pain. Through Brooklyn’s four preseason games, Simmons has looked like a totally different player from how he’s looked for the past two seasons.

The journey that Simmons has been through to get to this point has been extensively documented as he has had to overcome his physical limitations along with his mental ones. Now that he is physically able to play like he wants to, Simmons appears to be in a better mindset as he tries to guide the Nets back to the playoffs.

One thing that is interesting to point out is that Simmons is talking a lot more than seemingly any other point in his career, even during his All-Star days with the Philadelphia 76ers. Simmons recently did an interview with Christopher Riley of Esquire Magazine and he said this about how much his body is different now than it was last season:

“Now versus how I was playing last season, it’s night and day. Being able to go through a whole session; play, get hit, get up, sprint, dunk, do all these things and then be able to walk perfectly normal and feel like nothing happened is the best thing I’ve been able to experience in the last four or five months. Because all I want to do is hoop and do my job.”
