What Nebraska fans want from the new Big Ten football schedule

Some things in life either aren’t complicated or don’t need to be. The Big Ten is about to release its scheduling format for 2024, when USC joins the conference. A lot of fan bases might have several specific demands. They might want the architecture of the new Big Ten schedule to fill several different needs. It’s natural to want a lot of different things from a conference as a relatively new member. Nebraska has been a Big Ten member for under 15 years, so the Huskers are in some ways still adjusting to their surroundings.

You might think Nebraska fans would be very particular about their desires in relationship to the Big Ten schedule announcement. After all, the Huskers left the Big 12 for the Big Ten precisely because they were tired of the University of Texas calling all the shots.

Yet, Nebraska fans don’t seem to want a whole lot from the new Big Ten schedule, at least not according to Cornhuskers Wire editor Evan Bredeson. When we talked to Evan recently, he said Nebraska fans really care about only one thing.

“They want to play Iowa on Black Friday,” Bredeson said.

That’s it. That’s the tweet. That’s all Nebraska fans want. They want that Iowa game on the Friday after Thanksgiving to remain in place.

Some people don’t need a ton of things in order to be satisfied. That’s impressive.
